Rehearsals
To maintain continuity for the show and to be fair to all skaters we enforce the following policies for rehearsal attendance:
- Attendance is taken at all rehearsals.
- Skaters may not miss more than one rehearsal per number during the show session. This includes rehearsals scheduled on Monday and Tuesday of show week. All skaters must be present for Wednesday and Thursday show week rehearsals.
- While any off-ice sessions scheduled are required for all skaters in those numbers, it does not count toward the one allowed miss.
- Arriving to rehearsal 10 minutes late or leaving rehearsal 10 minutes early counts as half a miss.
- Attendance is required for both father and daughter at the mandatory rehearsal and all show week rehearsals.
L2S Costume Information (click to open)
Parents of Ice Show skaters are responsible for their skater’s measurements and costume sizing. You will be asked to select costume sizes during registration.
Please measure your skater before you begin the registration process so you have the information you need to complete the costume sizing section of the online registration form. For the costume, you will need girth, chest/bust, waist and hip measurements. For tights, you will need weight and height. Excellent instructions for measuring can be found at Weissman Costumes (one of our show vendors). Or, watch their "How to Measure" video:
The Costume Committee will review measurements and contact you with any questions.
A costume fee will be required to register for the Ice Show. This is in addition to the Show Session fee which covers the reheasals. All fees are payable by credit card during registration (transactions will actually post within one week of registration). If you are unable to pay online, checks must be received in the RFSC office immediately or no later than December 16, 2023. Make your payment to RFSC. Address the envelope to: “Costumes” and include your skater’s name and show group.
Costume deposits cannot be refunded once costumes are ordered (usually sometime in December).
Costumes
Costumes are $135 which includes tights and/or boot covers if needed. This is in addition to the cost of rehearsals for the Show Session. The combined cost will be charged during registration. Costume fees cannot be refunded once costumes are ordered (usually sometime in December).
Tights & Skate Guards
Tights and/or skate (boot) covers are included in the costume fee.
All skaters will be required to have hard plastic skate (blade) guards. They are not included in the costume fee but can be purchased in town at Scheels or Sports Headquarters or at stores online.
Skaters are responsible for any costume size alterations that may be required. Changes to the design of a costume will be made only at the direction of the Costume Committee and Show Directors. ALL costumes must be worn as directed by the costume committee and show directors.
Please Note: While we take skater safety very seriously, skaters must be willing to skate without a helmet in the ice show due to costume restrictions.
