General Tryout Information for all Teams

I would like to extend a warm welcome to skaters who are new to synchronized skating and thinking about trying out for a team. Welcome back to all of you who have been on a team and are trying out for a new team for the 2010-2011 season. Below is some information to help you determine for which team you should try out.

  • Passed Basic 7 or higher: Beginner team
  • Passed Pre-Preliminary MIF: New skaters – Beginner, experienced synchro skaters – Beginner (possible Pre-Juvenile) or Juvenile or Open Juvenile depending on age and commitment.
  • Passed Preliminary MIF: Open Juvenile or Juvenile depending on age.
  • Passed Pre-Juvenile MIF: Open Juvenile or Juvenile depending on age.
  • Passed Juvenile MIF: new skaters - Open Juvenile or Juvenile depending on age, experienced synchro skaters – Open Juvenile or Intermediate team depending on commitment.
  • Passed Intermediate MIF or higher: Intermediate team.

Billing Information: If you are currently participating in synchronized skating there will be no additional charge for tryouts, however, your synchronized charges continue as usual. For all other skaters trying out for teams a charge of $40.00 will be added to your bill. Temporary changes in our skating schedule, due to the loss of the South rink for maintenance, will be reflected in adjusted charges on your regular bill.

Please fill out a registration form and pick up an information sheet for your specific team. Take note of the parent meetings scheduled May 24th through 27th. If you are unable to attend your meeting please contact me.

Please Hold August 13th, 14th, & 15th open for our local camp with Jeannine Cullen-Weinschrod. Jeannine is an International level coach from Detroit Michigan. Jeannine holds the highest rating & ranking that a coach can achieve from the Professional Skaters Association. Her teams have won many National Championships as well as numerous international medals and competed at first World Synchronized Skating Championships in 2000 where they placed 8th. Jeannine was named Synchronized Skating Coach of the Year in 2004 by the Professional Skaters Association. She now directs the Phoenix teams in Rochester Michigan. I am very excited to have her return to work with our teams for the 8th year. It is very important to have the entire team take part in this camp. Please make every effort to attend.

Please fill out and return the Tryouts Registration Form to the RFSC office by Saturday, April 17th. See the 2010-2011 Tryouts Poster for more details.

Thank you!
