Pro's Ice July 21
We are cancelling the Saturday pro's ice for July 21st due to the St. Paul competition.
June Bills
I have had several questions regarding the cancels/makeups reported on the June bills. These are for the previous FALL contract, not the summer. In June, when the contract changes, we close out the cancels/makeups, balance the numbers and bill skaters for any extra ice skated. This information is in the yellow newsletter included with your bills. Please read this over as it may answer many of your questions. I would be glad to check over the calculations if you feel something is amiss.

Paul Paprocki’s daughter was diagnosed with a very rare blood disorder called Thombotic Thombocytopenic Pupura(TTP). The main treatment is plasmapheresis. Her blood is withdrawn and run through a centrifuge removing her plasma, and then fresh plasma is reinserted. Christina has been in the hospital for 13 days and has used about 130 units of plasma and 4 units of whole blood. Paul and his wife Diane are starting a blood donation drive because of the staggering amount of blood that their daughter has needed.
If anyone wishes to donate blood they can call the Mayo Blood Bank at. Inform them that you are donating for Christina Paprocki and they will send her a nice card denoting your gift. There is no urgency to donate, but had others not contributed Christina would not have had the needed blood for her treatments. Paul started the drive by being the first to donate.
Treatments are going well and her blood counts are slowly returning to normal. It is possible that she may be released from the hospital next week.

We apologize for the inconvenience these schedule changes cause our skaters and families. The Ice and Rules committee continues to work at balancing the needs of our skaters and our fiscal responsibility to the club. Unfortunately this sometimes leads to the cancellation/adjustment of ice sessions if the numbers of contracted skaters is not sufficient. If these changes have affected you, you may contact the office, and as is stated in our fall contract, make changes w/o penalty.
These changes start next Monday, Oct. 2, 2006. We will continue to monitor contracted ice and consider additional cuts or changes to the schedule if our contracted numbers do not increase by October 21st . If you intend to contract for additional ice, especially Saturday sessions and /or classes, please do so ASAP.

Ice and Rules: Schedule Chances
We are looking at making a few changes in our schedule because of some low numbers on some of our sessions. Our Wednesday night sessions and 2:45 daily sessions are very low, as is our sat. 4:00 Low Competitive Edge class. If you are thinking of contracting those please do so this week.
We are CANCELLING the Saturday High/Med power and at 2:30 this week (9/16) we are offering a SPINS CLASS during that time taught by Coach Lori Brakke. Please try that class out on Saturday. If there is enough interested skaters that contract for it we will make it part of our Saturday schedule. Thanks!
August Bills
They WILL be coming....running a couple of days late due to technical difficulties.
