RFSC Lettering Program

Welcome to the 2007-2008
High School Lettering Program!

This letter will give you some important information about the High School Lettering Program for figure skaters.

Our mandatory Parent/Skater Registration meetings will be held in the Bob Fick room on Sunday, September 23 at 6:30pm, Monday, September 24 at 6:30 pm, and Tuesday, September 25 at 6:30 pm. We require each lettering candidate and at least one parent to attend one of the meetings. If you are unable to attend either night, please call Ann Miksch at 280-8291. You must attend a meeting to continue in the RFSC Lettering Program.

The DVD for participating in Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) activities will be shown at each meeting and rules for participating in a sport for the Rochester School District will be explained. The Rochester Figure Skating Club enforces these rules exactly as in all other high school sports. The Rochester School District requires us to show the DVD to all lettering candidates. We will also be filling out the required paperwork during this meeting. An activity fee of $20 will be collected and checks can be made payable to the high school you will receive your high school letter from.

Since the first day of the summer contract, each skater’s primary coach has been tracking all skated on-ice hours at the RFSC. These hours count towards the 150 skated hours required for the program. You also need to keep track of all testing and/or competition information required for the program. Any competitions or test sessions your skater may have participated in over the summer will also count toward fulfilling these requirements. Throughout the year a copy of the results from any tests or competitions can be placed in the folder in the RFSC office labeled “High School Lettering.”

At the information meeting each skater will receive a sheet with the requirements needed for the track (Freestyle, Synchro, or Dance) they will be participating in.

If you have any questions, please call Ann Miksch @ 280-8291.
